Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of WikiSys (wikisys.com). By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
WikiSys is a wiki editor and sharing tool that stores each wiki as a markdown file in a Google Drive folder owned by you. WikiSys hosts the application and, for shared wikis, relays reads and writes between visitors and your Drive folder. WikiSys does not store your content on its own servers.
2. Your Google account
Using the editor requires a Google account. Your use of Google Drive remains subject to Google's own terms of service. WikiSys requests only the drive.file permission, which is limited to files and folders the app creates or that you open with it.
3. Your content
- You own your content. WikiSys claims no rights to it.
- You are responsible for what you publish. Do not use WikiSys to store or distribute content that is illegal, infringes others' rights, or contains malware or phishing material.
- Backups are your responsibility — conveniently, your wiki is already a plain markdown file in your own Drive.
4. Sharing
Share links are capability URLs: anyone who obtains a link (and its passphrase, if set) gets the access that link grants. You are responsible for where you distribute links and passphrases. Access can always be revoked through your Google Drive folder's sharing settings, which remain the final authority.
5. Acceptable use
Do not abuse the service: no attempts to circumvent rate limits or passphrase protection, no probing or disrupting the infrastructure, no automated bulk traffic beyond reasonable API use, and no use of the share-link proxy for content unrelated to wikis.
6. Availability and warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. WikiSys may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. Because your wikis are plain markdown files in your own Drive, a discontinuation of WikiSys does not affect your data.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WikiSys and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. The total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service (currently: nothing).
8. Termination
WikiSys may block access for abuse of these terms. You can stop using the service at any time; your content stays in your Drive, and you can revoke the app's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
9. Changes and contact
These terms may be updated; material changes will be reflected in the effective date above. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. Questions: j@wikisys.com.
